Why have sedation?

Dental sedation can help to calm and relax you. It can reduce the number of visits necessary as more treatment can be carried out. It can enable you to have treatment that you would ordinarily find difficult. It is suitable for most treatments including fillings, veneers, crowns and implants, as well as gum treatment.

What types of sedation are there?

Inhalational sedation is suitable for mild to moderate anxiety, whilst IV sedation is for those who suffer from a deep seated phobia, or who require prolonged or complex treatment. Temporary memory loss is a common feature of IV sedation, therefore helping you to "forget" being in the dental chair.
